Welcome to Ramnee Hotel & Restaurant

The Ramnee Hotel is an Edwardian villa built in 1907 as a country house in the arts and crafts style. Close to Nairn, Elgin and Inverness Airport, the house is now a warm hotel near the Scottish Highlands, oozing character and charm, offering delightful country house rooms. We have cosy Classic rooms or more spacious rooms with seating areas in Superior and Master rooms (one with Four Poster) and a Family Suite.

Our hotel is family-owned and quietly situated at the end of a tree-lined drive, in landscaped gardens, perfectly positioned near Grant Park, famous for Scotland in Bloom and Britain in Bloom, with its award-winning floral displays. Take the Malt Whisky Trail, or explore the rolling golf courses, superb fishing, walking and cycling!

Close to Cawdor Castle, Brodie Castle, Culloden and Gordon Castle Walled Garden!

After this exertion, unwind at Ramnee and be pampered! You are only 90 minutes from Balmoral Castle.

Please note there is no lift or ground floor accommodation. Guests with mobility issues enjoy accessible facilities on the ground floor but our bedrooms do involve stairs. We can always help with luggage.

Master Rooms are luxurious and spacious with separate seating area and views over our landscaped gardens towards Cluny Hillor across open fields to Findhorn Bay and the Moray Firth.

Superior Bedrooms

Superior Rooms offer more space and a greater degree of comfort, all have views over our landscaped gardens and most have views towards Cluny Hill or Findhorn Bay and the Black Isle.

Family Suite

The Family Suite has an entrance vestibule with twin bedroom, double bedroom and bathroom all accessed from this area. The twin bedroom can also be set as a King size double bed.

Our lovely selection of Classic Rooms are smaller rooms, either double or twin, and are ideal for a short stay, sole occupancy or where budget is critical.

The hotel's Culbin function room is perfect for your dinners, anniversaries, funeral teas, birthdays, business seminars, staff training or meetings. Given the ease of parking and hospitality we offer, it is frequently booked by local companies and ensures anybody needing accommodation can be booked in. Ramnee Hotel is situated just off the A96 in Forres, in the heart of Moray, easily accessible from Inverness Airport (30 minutes) and centrally located with a mainline rail station (Inverness-Elgin-Aberdeen); perfect for trips to Nairn, Elgin or the RAF bases at Lossiemouth.
