Forres Highland Games
Where: Grant Park Forres
When: First Saturday of July
Time: 12:30pm – 5:30pm
Traditional Highland Games with massed Pipe Bands, Tug o’ War, Heavy events, Solo Piping, Athletics, Highland dancing Grass Cycling, a road Race and Pipe band competition.
Cawdor Castle
Cawdor Castle is open April to October (check on dates) and is a superb medieval intact castle and gardens in the north of Scotland. Cawdor is a traditional Scottish Castle built and inhabited by the Cawdor family for over 600 years. An ancient medieval tower constructed around the legendary holly tree, the castle even has a dungeon! Highly recommended by the hotel owners.

Benromach Distillery Tours
Our local distillery is situated just a few minutes walk from the Hotel. See the Whisky making process for yourself and sample a wee dram or two! Use your new-found knowledge from Ramnee bar, where you can find a wide selection of Benromachs to sample along with an array of Scottish malts. They also distil the very new Red Door gin, a well-kept Forres secret!
